Why Journey Equus began

Journey Equus was created to bring people and horses together in a caring place. The goal was never to ask people to fit one program. The goal was to build programs that can meet people where they are.

Our name speaks to movement and change. A journey can begin with one small step. Equus is a word for horse. Together, the words remind us that horses can walk beside us as we learn and grow.

What guides us today

We believe every story matters and every body belongs. We value safety, kindness, choice, respect, and clear communication. We keep learning so our programs can serve more people well.

Our story is still growing. We are thankful for every person, horse, volunteer, donor, and community partner who is part of it.
